Please always follow the manufacturer instructions of your cigar humidor for care and maintenance.
To hydrate your cigar humidor, first whipe the inside with a very wet clean rag. This applies a large ammount of water to the relatively dry wood.
Fill the Humidor by submerging the humifier pads or sponges. Make sure the humidor humidifier pads are saturated but not dripping.
Place the humidifier or humidifier pads in the cigar humidor and close the humidor. Leave the cigar Humidor closed for at least 24 hours.
After allowing the cigar humidor to sit for 24 hours, open the humidor and repeat the steps above for preparing your cigar humidor and allow the humidor to sit another 24 hours.
This process will "Season" your cigar humidor bringing it up to the proper humidity level for your cigars. You will periodicially have to check the hygrometer or barometer on the cigar humidor and ensure it is within the levels of 65-75%.
Don't place your cigars into your cigar humidor until the hygrometer is between 65-755, the optimal range for cigar storage.
Store your cigar humidor in a cool dry plae, not in direct sunlight or any heating or air conditioning ducts.
